Details are not immediately known, but Guthrie Public Schools and the Guthrie Police Department investigated a possible threat to student safety Thursday morning at Guthrie Junior High School.
In a press release from the school district, they say a person made a threat and was taken into custody by law enforcement.
Guthrie News Page has learned that person who made the alleged threat was a child (youth) and this case may be a mental health response.
The school district says at no time were students in any danger and no change in security levels for the school building were warranted.
Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson released a brief statement.
“I appreciate the students who notified us of this threat. I also want to thank the building administration and Guthrie Police Department for their swift response.”
