If it is up to the Logan County and Guthrie Junior High SWAT team they just spent their last day picking up cigarette butts in the park.
The SWAT (Students Working against Tobacco) team spent their time Saturday morning picking up cigarette butts thrown on the ground inside Mineral Wells Park.
According to SWAT Coordinator Lewis Robinson III, the team will make a power point presentation and will present it to the Guthrie Parks Board committee, next Thursday, and ask the board to request that city council pass an ordiance that will make all parks, in Guthrie, smoke free.
SWAT is about getting in Big Tobacco’s face and letting them know that they wont be used in their deadly game.
