The City of Guthrie has hired Cody Mosley as its new Marketing and Economic Development Director.

Mosley was publicly introduced to the position by City Manager Matt Mueller during Tuesday evening’s council meeting.

Mosley’s main responsibilities include retaining and expanding existing downtown office and retail tenants, and attracting new businesses.

“We are excited about the energy and enthusiasm that Cody will bring to this important position. Economic Development is an essential component of a vibrant community,” Mueller said.

Mosley, who is engaged to be married to Chelsea Jordan next May,  previously interned at the City of Moore for 18 months in the economic development department, along with the community development department as a planning/grants intern. While at Moore, Mosley marketed the “Recycle Moore” campaign that has received national recognition and awards.

“I think that Cody has the background and drive to effectively market Guthrie to a wide variety of national retailers as well as lend support and business development assistance to those at the local level. We expect great things from this position and I am confident that Cody is the man for the job,” Mueller further explained.

Mosley is a graduate of Choctaw High School and Mid-America Christian University, where he obtained a Bachelor’s of Business Administration and currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma. While at Mid-America, Mosley played on the varsity golf team for four years as a scholarship player.

“I’m very excited to have the opportunity to work with the City of  Guthrie and look forward to bringing in new businesses that respect the history of the city, and look to be active community partners in pursuing future growth,” Mosley said.

Mosley and his future wife both currently attend Frontline Church in downtown Oklahoma City.
