United Way of Logan County Pacesetters blaze the trail

Bookmark and Share

One of the special elements of the United Way of Logan County campaign each year is the establishment of a small group of businesses and organizations which start their campaign in July/August just ahead of the regular campaign.

D.W. Converse (L), Chairman of the United Way Pacesetter Committee, and Joshua Tucker (R), Administrator of Mercy Hospital Logan County, prepare to discuss strategies to be used in the hospital’s United Way Pacesetter campaign

These businesses and organizations are called pacesetters.  D.W. Converse, Pacesetter Chairman, said “The role of the pacesetter group is to start the ball rolling, to blaze a trail and set the stage for the big campaign. The pacesetter organizations get us off to a good start and provide the energy and enthusiasm to kick off our campaign in September.  Their role is very important and we have been blessed with great results in the past!”

The pacesetter businesses and organizations this year include:

Guthrie Noon Lions Club

Guthrie Vision Source

Oklahoma Natural Gas – Guthrie

Environmental Management, Inc.

Converse Surveying & Engineering

BancFirst – Guthrie

Logan Community Services

God’s Food Bank

Logan County Council on Aging

Mercy Hospital Logan County

Rachel Mueller, United Way of Logan County Coordinator, said “The Pacesetter organizations play such a crucial role in “jump starting” the campaign.  They represent the role models for other organizations in our county and their efforts reflect their tremendous support for the partner agencies served by United Way and most importantly the genuine desire to help others in our communities who are in need.”

Steve Gentling, United Way of Logan County President noted “Although our campaign officially begins on Thursday, September 13 with a “Kickoff Celebration and Thank You Luncheon” at the American Legion Post in Guthrie, the Pacesetter component of the campaign gets us revved up and going. They truly are the match that lights our fire and each year they do a terrific job. We thank these organizations in advance and invite everyone to our free kickoff luncheon where we will unveil our 2012 Campaign Goal and give the results of the Pacesetter efforts.”

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be actually something which I think I
would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad
for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
