First Christian Church celebrated Vacation Bible School this past week with several outreach projects. One project involved bringing water bottles to help fill the Guthrie Public School buses in an effort to ease the ride for students as hot weather looms once school returns to session in August. The children collected bottles throughout the week and were able to load a bus Friday morning in the church’s parking lot.
Another outreach project the church promoted during the week was to raise money for those affected by earthquakes in Nepal, which allowed children to easily relate the VBS “Everest” curriculum.
“Everest” focused on reaching new heights with God’s power, and more than 165 children attended each day.
