The August sales tax collections for the City of Guthrie increased nearly 7 percent compared to the same time last year.
The City of Guthrie’s August 2018 sales tax receipt came in at $597,044.55, which is an increase of 6.98 percent, or $38,967.78, compared to August 2017.
For the fiscal year, the sales tax revenue is 10.57 percent higher, or $597,310.53, accumulatively than for the same 11 month period of the last budget year.
Of the total collected in the 11 months, the General Fund (three percent) has collected $6,246,855.06 and the Capital Improvement Fund (three-quarters percent) at $1,249,371.01.
The largest jump this fiscal year came in January with a 19.25 percent boost compared to a year ago. However, all 11 months have seen an increase so far with the lowest increase coming in March (4.66 percent).
