With classes out on Monday, teachers with Guthrie Public Schools took part in training classes with local law agencies.
Heartland Medical Direction, along with the Guthrie Police Department, Guthrie Fire Department and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, provided training to school employees.
The training consisted of the civilian response to active shooter events, or CRASE, and the stop the bleed course.
These two courses combined provide school employees with information on how to respond to active attacks on their campus as well as how to render immediate first aid, according to Dr. Bill Worden.
“A special thanks to the first responders for their assistance today,” Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson said.
