For the eighth straight month, medical marijuana dollar amounts in Oklahoma continue to rise.
The Oklahoma Tax Commission reports the state collected over $1.6 million in May from the 7% excise tax on marijuana. Along with an additional $2 million was collected in state and local sales taxes.
Sales has generated $10.7 million for the state since the inception in October 2018.
In June 2018, 57 percent of the voters approved the use medical marijuana.
The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority reports over 129,000 patient licenses have been approved since August.
