A new before and after school program will be opening just in time for the upcoming school year.
After 20 years in the childcare business, Jillian Sykes will be opening Jr Jays Academy.
“I’m excited for a new adventure,” Jillian said. “Guthrie is in need of a program that transports children to and from school. Our goal is to provide a safe and caring place for kids to attend while their parents are at work.
Jillian says one on one tutoring for students will be provided, if needed.
“I know parents are busy in the evenings and if we can ease some of the time families spend on homework, then we’d be happy to help.”
The program will be open to children in all day pre-k, including for Willow Creek and Golden Age students, through the sixth grade.
The temporary site will be at the First United Methodist Church (across from CashSaver) until the new childcare center is completed in spring of 2020.
Tuition rates will be $80 per week for before and after care, $20 for before only and $65 for after only. The program will be private pay only at the current time and no DHS assistance will be taken. A 10% discount will be given to families with multiple kids.
The children will be able to attend full day at an
additional cost when school is not in session, except for major holidays and
inclement weather days.
An enrollment date is set for Thursday, August 8 from 5 – 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church. A non-refundable deposit of $85 will be taken at enrollment to secure your child’s spot.
Spots are available on a First come first serve basis. If you can’t make it during this time, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a spot.
