Updated Monday, Aug. 19 — Due to unforeseen circumstances the Logan County Republican Party has decided to postpone the For God and Country event scheduled for August 24th at the Lazy E Arena to a later date, according to Logan County GOP Chairman Jennifer Bennett Johnson.
“We appreciate the contributions from our volunteers, donors, and ticket holders, and the willingness of event participants to support our efforts to engage the voters in our community.”
The Logan County GOP, in collaboration with other counties, is set to host its 2nd Annual “For God and Country” event on August 24th at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie.
This family-friendly gathering, scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m., will feature a lineup of prominent speakers, including keynote speaker Ryan Walters, Oklahoma’s State Superintendent of Education. Walters is expected to highlight how Oklahoma is leading the nation in bold public education reform, according to Logan County GOP officials in an email release.
Other notable speakers include Logan County Sheriff Damon Devereaux, who will discuss the oath and responsibilities of a constitutional sheriff, Oklahoma GOP Chair Nathan Dahm, Pastor Mark LeMarr on the connection between the Bible and the Constitution, and Rep. Kevin Hern, who will share insights on challenges, accomplishments, and plans at the national level.
Attendees will also have the unique opportunity to engage in a hands-on experience led by military warriors, where they will prepare their Meals Ready To Eat (MRE) and learn about essential lifesaving military items. The event will also feature live music from Butter and the Genre and Trey Taylor, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Doors open at 2:00 p.m., with general admission priced at $20 online or at the gate, including an MRE meal. Families can purchase four tickets for $50, while VIP tickets are available for $350 for two tickets, offering suite seating, a meet and greet, and floor access to the MRE meal.
