Two people shot, killed in Logan County

Updated at 7:21 p.m. — Two men are dead from gunshot wounds and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has been requested by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office to investigate.  

At 10:38 a.m. this morning, Logan County dispatch received a 9-1-1 call from Highway 51 and May Avenue in Logan County. The caller said her husband, 66-year-old Abraham “Abe” Clark, and 52-year-old Jack Duane Butler III both had gunshot wounds. Clark died at the scene. Butler was transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where he died.
 
Clark’s wife, 34-year-old Ashely Clark, was uninjured.
 
The Oklahoma Office of Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.


The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is on the scene of a shooting. One person has died and another clinging to life. 

The shooting is going to be on State Highway 51 and a mile east of State Highway 74 (near May Ave.) in the northwest portion of the county.

The call came in around 11 a.m.

One person is now being transported to OU Medical Center with a gun shot wound.

The shooting appears to be a murder-suicide attempt.

LCSO officials tell Guthrie News Page there is not a public threat with this shooting.
