This summer, young aviation enthusiasts have an exciting opportunity to explore the skies at the Summer Flight Camp hosted by the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport. The camp, organized by Sooner Flight Academy and EAA Flights, promises a weekend filled with educational and thrilling activities designed to ignite a passion for flight in children aged 8 to 12.
The camp will kick off on Friday, August 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a full day of activities led by Sooner Flight Academy. On Saturday, August 10, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., EAA Flights will take over to continue the adventure.
Participants will delve into various aspects of aviation, including learning about the parts of an airplane, understanding the basic principles of flight, and building and launching rockets. One of the highlights of the camp will be a discovery flight over Guthrie, offering children a firsthand experience of flying.
