In the last three years, the GERA has and is achieving its phased growth planning efforts through the development of unused airport property, negotiations for aviation services, an update to the airport strategic plan, development of an active pilot association, a developmental marketing committee, and plans for a pilots lounge.

The Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport Advisory Board has made recent strides in development and growth and continues to build sustainability through phased development. Both Guthrie and Edmond, alongside efforts by the Airport Advisory Board and local economic development, planned and installed water and sewer lines to the future development area for commercial hangars (9 large hangar lots) through an Edmond Economic Development Association Loan, and the Guthrie City Council has recently awarded its first commercial lease in the above mentioned commercial development area. Through other progressive initiatives, the airport installed a Self Service Credit Card machine to provide 24 hour fuel availability to local and transient pilots.

Additionally, the airport, working very closely with the FAA, OAC, and its contracted engineers, have planned for, completed, and are currently constructing major capital improvements in areas of navigation, pavements, utilities, operations, and new land development.
