Ever wanted to fly in an airplane? Guthrie Edmond Regional Airport will offer that and a lot more with their Airport Community Day Fly-In.
The event is set for May 12 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Vendors will be on hand with food and water.
The airport is located at 520 Airport Road.
Young Eagle flights will offer free airplane rides for those between the ages of eight thru 17 years of age. More information can be found at http://www.youngeagles.org/ A parent or guardian sign release form will be required. The flights will start at 9:00 a.m. with a cut 0ff time set at 3:00 p.m. Worldwide over 1.6 million kids have flown free.
General aviation airplanes will be on dsiplay along with WW-II Warbirds, the restoration of CAF’s A-26 Hangar # 2, Amateur-built aircraft, Gyrocopters, Oklahoma Highway Patrol aircraft, Military Aircraft Civil Air Patrol Aircraft, Large R/C aircraft cars and Corvette Restorers Society.
Static and interactive displays from OKC Aviation Metro-Tech, University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University and FAA’s Civil Aerospace Medical Institute will be showcased.
Come out and enjoy a day at the airport! Food and water vendors on site.
