Motorists driving by a Guthrie street called police Friday morning when they spotted an owl near a curb.
The Guthrie Police Department responded to the 600 block of N. Division and found two owls just before 9 a.m.
Unfortunately, the mother owl was found dead with the baby owl next to her side.
The eight-week old owl was taken in by Guthrie Animal Control and taken to a local sanctuary.
The mother owl appears may have died for an incident with an above power line.
