Edmond Memorial wasn’t able to overcome an early deficit against Guthrie, as the Bulldogs lost 4-3 on the diamond to Guthrie after falling behind by three runs in the third inning.
Memorial scored on a RBI single and an error in the third inning and another RBI single in the sixth inning.
Beau Davis paced Guthrie at the plate. Davis went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the third inning.
Rowdy Reihs baffled Bulldog hitters by striking out six batters. Reihs allowed no earned runs on three hits and four walks over five innings.
The lead stayed with Guthrie after the first (1-0), when they scored one run on an RBI single by Davis.
Guthrie added two more runs in the top of the third. Reihs doubled, scoring Jeremiah Blackmon to start the inning. That was followed up by Patrick Richardson‘s single, plating Davis.
