Blue Santa Christma Toy Joy, Diapers Give Away

As we all prepare for the Christmas and End of Year Holiday season, we know that some of our communities families will have less JOY than others. The members of  Beta Phi Zeta Chapter of  Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. will combine TWO Give-Away events for families who could use some extra JOY — as well as some diapers, infant clothes and supplies, and some gifts and goodies for older children.

Blue Santa’s Christmas Drive-By 2022 will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 203 SW Bond in Langston.

Pre-registration is required by Dec. 10 to langstongradzetas@gmail.com

Langston City/Logan County Stork’s Nest has hosted four Diaper Drive-by during the Covid Pandemic. These FREE Give-Aways, co-sponsored by the Oklahoma March of Dimes and supported by New Hope Baptist Church of Langston,  provided some much-needed items for newborn infants to two-year-old toddlers. The Stork’s Nest primarily aims to help prevent premature births by providing information, resources, and support to mothers-to-be.

For the past 9 years, Zeta’s BLUE SANTA has greeted kids in the communities with gifts/toys, games, creative arts, snacks/treats, music, and the telling of the Christmas Story.

This year we will do a SUPER-DUPER DRIVE-BY for both events — serving all the children of each family.

For the TOY JOY GIVE-AWAY for children 3-16 years old’s – provide the parent(s) name; phone number; each child’s name, age, and gender, and approximate time of arrival.

For the FREE DIAPERS, CLOTHES & BABY SUPPLIES GIVE-AWAY for newborns – 2 year old’s – provide parent(s) name; phone #; each child’s name, age, gender, diaper, clothes, and shoe sizes, and approximate time of arrival.

This will be a  “DRIVE-BY” event with  Blue Santa and his Helpers bringing gifts and goodies to your vehicle. For the health and well-being of all, Blue Santa and his Helpers will wear masks and we ask that if parents and children are not well, please have someone else pick up gifts and goodies. After registering as required above, parents will be sent a contact number to text their names and to notify the staff that they have arrived. Please remain in the vehicle singing “Here Comes Blue Santa” until he reaches your vehicle.

This event is open to the public. However, participants must pre-register to ensure that gifts and infant resources are available. We regret that anyone who has NOT signed up will NOT be served.

In addition to Beta Phi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and the Oklahoma March of Dimes’ Langston City/Logan County Stork’s Nest and New Hope Baptist Church,  this fun, free, joyful, sharing, the giveaway is brought to you by the members of the other six chapters of  Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc in the State of Oklahoma who donated extra diapers, and several very kind supporters who donated cash or adopted a child to whom they wanted to bring JOY!!

BUT WAIT!! THERE’S MORE!! Like so many thoughtful individuals and organizations, Blue Santa and Beta Phi Zeta members saluted and honored Health Care Workers for their valiant hard work and commitment to others during the Covid Pandemic. In 2020 and 2021, Blue Santa showed up at the Golden Age Nursing Home in Guthrie with flowers, candy, and Christmas cards for the staff. Be alert for a sighting of Blue Santa in that neighborhood around 3:30 p.m. on December 17 as he completes his day of sharing joy.

Feel free to contact us at langstongradzetas@gmail.com if you too, want to support the sharing of JOY this Season!!
