Bluejays hangs tough until late in 11-5 loss to Carl Albert

Bluejays held tough until late against Carl Albert on Thursday, but Carl Albert scored four runs late for a 11-5 victory at Choctaw.

Tj Mullins recorded the win for Carl Albert. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out three, walked two and surrendered seven hits.

Carl Albert pounded Bluejays pitching, as six hitters combined for 10 hits, nine RBIs and eight runs scored.

Home runs for Carl Albert came when Cameron Warren homered in the fourth inning, Steve Thompson homered in the fifth inning, and Mike Mitchell homered in the seventh inning.

Grant Towler ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked five, struck out two, and allowed five runs.

The top of the second saw Carl Albert take an early lead, 2-0. A single by Justin McGregor, bringing home Garrett Wages started the inning off. Carl Albert then tacked on more runs when Jackson scored on a walk by Gavin LaValley.

Bluejays scored two runs of its own in the second. Bluejays scored on an RBI double by Camden Wilcott and an RBI single by Tyler Kisner.

Carl Albert stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the fourth, scoring two runs on a two-run home run by Cameron.

Three runs in the bottom of the sixth helped Bluejays close its deficit to 7-5. A three-run home run by Reed sparked Bluejays’ rally. But, Tj got Beau Davis to ground out to end the inning.

Carl Albert piled on four more runs in the top of the seventh. A double by Tj ignited the offense,, scoring Kadell Nguyen. That was followed up by Mike’s three-run blast, bringing home Bryson Schuman and Tj.
