Guthrie and Greenwood, AR traded the lead nine times on Friday, but Guthrie ended up on top with a 10-6 win in seven innings over Greenwood.
The Jays (6-1) took the lead in the sixth inning for the final time to hold on for the victory. Guthrie went up for good on an RBI double by Jacob Chappell off starting pitcher Ethan Cagle, scoring Donovan Jordan.
Blaze Hastings racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Bluejays. He singled in the third inning, doubled in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
The Bluejays jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Chappell got things going for the Jays with a single. A stolen base then moved Chappell from first to second. Reed Roberts doubled, plating Chappell. Bluejays added more runs when Roberts scored on a sacrifice fly by Hastings.
It didn’t take long for Bluejays to answer as it scored three runs of its own in the fourth. Bluejays scored when Zane Maltz came home on an RBI single by Chappell.
