Breck Clark steps down as Guthrie’s girl’s head basketball coach

Guthrie Head Coach Breck Clark finishes with a time out with her team inside the GHS gymnasium.

After two seasons at the helm of the Guthrie High School girl’s basketball program, Breck Clark is stepping down.

Clark, a native of the Shawnee area and a 2013 graduate of Dale High School, served as an assistant coach at El Reno High School before arriving in Guthrie.

Clark compiled a 23-31 record during her tenure.

Under her guidance, the Lady Jays demonstrated resilience and competitiveness, going 4-4 in playoff games and making two trips to the Area Tournament.

In addition to her duties at Guthrie, Clark has also been active in the summer seasons, coaching a boys’ AAU basketball team.

Clark has accepted a head coaching position for a boys’ basketball team in Southwest Oklahoma.

Guthrie Superintendent wish Clark the best of luck moving forward.

“She is a great coach and we wish her nothing but the best as she helps break new ground in high school coaching in Oklahoma,” Simpson said.

Guthrie, who will begin a search for a new head coach, will have the program’s eighth coach in 18 seasons.
