Candidate filing begins for rural fire protection district offices

Candidates interested in filing for the Rural Fire Protection District office in 3 Logan County Rural Fire Protection Districts will file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, July 10.

Sheleen Winscott, Secretary of the Logan County Election Board, said Declaration of Candidacy forms must be completed and submitted to the County Election Board no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 12 when the filing period ends. Winscott reminds voters that Contests of Candidacy must be filed no later than 5 p.m. Friday, July 14, and may only be filed by another candidate for that office, unless a candidate files unopposed.

Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted for the following offices:

Oak Cliff Fire Protection District, Member of the Board of Directors, a 5-year term

Woodcrest Fire Protection District, Member of the Board of Directors, a 5-year term

Deer Creek Fire Protection District, Member of the Board of Directors, a 5-year term

Declaration of Candidacy forms can be downloaded from the State Election Board website at oklahoma.gov/elections or by contacting your County Election Board office at (405) 282-1900 or [email protected].

The Logan County Election Board is located at 224 E. Vilas Ave., Guthrie, OK 73044, and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
