Two people were taken to the local hospital following a two-vehicle accident, including a semi truck, at an intersection well-known for accidents.
Just after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, emergency crews were dispatched to Noble Ave. and Pine St. and found both vehicles just east of the intersection.
According to a witness and officers at the scene, a funeral procession was in progress with a white, four door vehicle traveling north on Pine St. The car failed to yield to the traffic light and as it passed through the intersection was slammed into on the driver’s side by the semi truck, who was traveling eastbound on Noble Ave. (Highway 33).
The procession was not being assisted by law enforcement.
Traffic from Noble Ave. was diverted onto Pine St. for 45 minutes until both vehicles could be towed from the scene.
Two people from the car were transported non-emergency to Mercy Logan County Hospital.
