Guthrie’s Carrie Ann Fryar has been busy to say the least with family and teaching school, but recently she competed and was crowned in a recent pageant in Houston.
The 2015 Regency International Pageant crowned its first Titleholders, Saturday, August 1 in The Woodlands, Texas. Prizes included $500 cash prize, plus other amazing prizes, photo shoots, talent contract, and much more! Fryar also won a hotel stay for six nights and seven days to a destination of her choice anywhere in the world for her and her family.
Competing as Mrs. South Central, Fryar represented the states of Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana at her first International level pageant competition. Fryar won Photogenic, Interview, Swimsuit, Fashion Wear, and Evening Gown portions of the competition as well as winning the Marriage Longevity award. Fryar and her husband traveled with their children Jayce and Kacy to the pageant, along with Fryar’s niece, Graysen Boyer of Edmond who competed as Miss Teen Great Plains in the Pageant.
Fryar is the reigning Mrs. Logan County in the Mrs. America System and competed at the Mrs. Oklahoma Pageant here in Guthrie in March just four and a half months after the birth of her son. “It was very challenging trying to balance life with a new baby, going to the gym, and keeping up with my students in my classes where I taught while on maternity leave in preparation for the pageant. I was not as ready as I would like to have been for Mrs. Oklahoma, but it was a great experience!”
The pageant weekend start off Friday afternoon with a kickoff party at a local entertainment complex where contestants enjoyed lunch and bowling with fellow contestants, family and friends. The contestants competed in Interview, Photogenic, Fashion, Evening Gown and teens and above in swimwear. The pageant was also able to raise money for their animal charities by asking for donations in lieu of charging an admission fee.
Next year’s 2016 Regency International Pageant competition will be held next summer in Las Vegas, NV. For more information visit the website at www.regencyinternationalpageant.com or call 832-721-4872.
