Thanks to two Guthrie residents, more children in Logan County will have an opportunity to have a caring adult come alongside them as they navigate the child welfare system.
Judge Luke Duel swore in new CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Jennifer Roysdon and Sherry Murphy recently. They are the latest recruits to the local program as they completed the 30-hour training this week and are now ready to take their first cases serving abused and neglected children in DHS custody in the Guthrie community.
CASAs spend an average of 10 hours per month on their cases and provide a voice for children in advocating for their best interests in the courtroom.
July is recruitment month for Logan County CASA. Evening training classes are being offered in the Guthrie office beginning the week of August 5th. The need for more CASAs is great, and anyone interested in learning more about CASA for Kids of Logan County is encouraged to call Diane or Jo at (405) 293-6200 or email at [email protected].
