This week The Oklahoma Travel Industry Association (OTIA) held its annual Oklahoma Convention On Tourism at the Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University, where Governor Fallon presented the keynote speech at the luncheon, and The RedBud Awards gala at the Oklahoma History Center.
The RedBud Award represents the highest honor given in the Oklahoma Tourism Industry and any tourism entity that qualifies may present a submission for an award. Emceed by Lt. Governor Todd Lamb and “Discover Oklahoma” host Jennifer Reynolds, twenty eight awards were given in sixteen categories. The awards recognize Oklahoma’s top tourism attractions, events, programs and organizations for outstanding efforts to serve and promote Oklahoma’s Tourism Industry.
We submitted an entry for the “Outstand Event Of The Year” for Gentlemen Of The Road – Guthrie Stopover. All entries were evaluated by a slate of tourism professionals on specific criteria including customer service and experience, marketing effectiveness, media relations, variety of audiences reached, value, and overall creativity. We are so honored to have received this award, which really represents the efforts of our whole community as we came together to make GOTR-Guthrie Stopover the huge success that it was! So come by The Chamber some time and see the beautiful award that you won, and think about what we can do next!
