Hello! I hope you had a good weekend in Guthrie. The Antique Vintage Market and the Farmer’s Market filled the Gazebo area Saturday. We had six vendors from the Farmer’s Market, there were about that many more that were not able to make the market because produce is not quite ready. But just wait, it’s coming! A special thanks to Paula Burnett for organizing all of the Antique Vintage folks.
This week Silverleaf Shotgun Sports LLC will host the 2015 Oklahoma Sporting Clays Championship June 10-14. This event will draw over 250 participants from around Oklahoma and surrounding states.
The Pollard Theatre will be showing “Company” this month starting on the 19th and continuing to July 11. In this landmark “concept” show, considered by many to have inaugurated the modern era of musical theatre. Company follows our anti-hero bachelor Robert as he makes his way through a series of encounters with single women as well as his married friends. On the night of his 35th birthday, confirmed bachelor Robert contemplates his unmarried state. In vignette after hilarious vignette, we are introduced to “those good and crazy people,” his married friends, as Robert weighs the pros and cons of married life. In the end, he realizes being alone is “alone, not alive.”
The Guthrie Job Corps Center holds a quarterly luncheon and welcomes people from Guthrie to see, hear and meet staff and students from the Job Corps. It is called a CRC Luncheon which stands for Community Relations Council Luncheon and the food is delicious! The Culinary Arts Career Technical Trades prepare the meal which will be next week Thursday, June 18, 2015. If you are interested in attending contact the chamber office so we can put you in touch with the Job Corps.
BancFirst, F&M Bank, InterBank and Oklahoma State Bank are participating in the Diaper Drive Challenge to collect New Diapers to be given away at the Local Community Baby Shower on June 18 at First United Presbyterian Church, Fellowship Hall. Please support the community by donating diapers to your favorite locations. He who has the most diapers wins! Diapers will be picked up on June 16.

Be sure to come out for Relay for Life this Saturday at noon on First Street and Oklahoma Avenue. There will be fun things to do and it’s for a good cause.
Growing Guthrie Leaders will be getting together June 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the Granny Had One Event Center. We will be discussing our Leadership Revolution Team’s progress and getting up to speed on the plans for the Dream Guthrie Team! We will have some special guests and good eats!
