Wow, what a great weekend! Congratulations to everyone involved with the 89er Celebration! This is the second year that Steve Gentling has chaired this event and I think there were record numbers for the parade Saturday. Reminded me of the good ole days.

Verla Raines coordinated the Concert in the Park which was completely new to our 89er Celebration. All of the local civic clubs participated in this year’s event: The Guthrie Noon Lion’s Club sponsoring GTV20 so it could be shown at home.  The Rotary Club put together the Friday night Gassers & Geezers car show; they had 87 entries and gave away T-shirts and plaques with pictures of the owners with their cars! The Kiwanis Club coordinated the Big Wheel races for the kids. Thirty kids participated from age’s three to seven. Finalist medals were given out to the First, Second, Third and last place winners! What a great community we live in!
