Hello! Looking for some entertainment! The Halftime has live music on weekends, and Legends Food and Sport has live music every Saturday night on their patio! Byron Berline has super concerts a couple of times every month, check the calendar at www.doublestop.com. The Pollard opened their 28th Season with “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” on Friday. The Make Guthrie Weird Block Party for August was a huge success on Saturday! Look for the next Block Party on September 27 with Parker Millsap, Del Barber, John Calvin Abney, Kierston White and Massey!!

The local American Red Cross chapter is looking for volunteers. They are going to have a Volunteer recruitment cookout, September 13th at 11a.m. at the Chapter office. Call 282-1194 to RSVP by Sept. 10, or just show up!

Horse Feathers Equine Rescue is looking for a few good Volunteers! (Perfect for retirees and stay at home mom and dads) Hours available: Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to noon. Monday through Friday Hours 9 am to noon. Evening Hours 4:30 pm to 6 pm. Volunteers will be trained to insure the safety and wellbeing of everyone.

Labor Day is right around the corner which means it’s September and that is Fair time! The Logan County Free Fair begins next Wednesday, Sept. 3 and runs through Saturday the 6th.  Stop by the extension office, 215 Fairgrounds Road, for a schedule of events!

The Guthrie Chamber of Commerce has scheduled the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus to come to town September 19 and 20! There will be a tent rising ceremony as soon as they hit town! The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus be setting up in the lots behind Comet Cleaners and will have four shows while they are here; Friday they will have a 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday they will have a 2 p.m. and a 4:30 p.m. show. We are currently working on places to sell tickets in advance. I will keep you updated every week so stay tuned.  

The Blue Belle Saloon will be hosting the Chamber Coffee Wednesday, Sept. 3, they are located at 224 W. Harrison. Everyone is welcome!
