Congratulations to the Logan County Girl Scouts! They promoted pet adoption and raised money for the Guthrie Animal Shelter this weekend! A silent auction was set up in the pavilion at Mineral Wells Park. The Girl Scouts had most if not all of the local veterinarians on hand to answer questions about small animals. The Boy Scouts also helped by selling food during the Pet Palooza which a portion was given back to the Guthrie Animal Shelter. At 2 p.m. they hosted a pet show for cats and dogs with great prizes! It makes me happy to see these young girls want to be a part of their community by helping those in need

The Pollard Theatre presents “Passing Strange” August 9 to 17!  Back by popular demand! Singer songwriter Stew’s daring original musical, Passing Strange, takes audiences on a journey across the boundaries of place, identity and theatrical convention. Stew brings us the story of a young bohemian who charts a course for “the real” through sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll. Loaded with soulful lyrics and overflowing with passion, this critically acclaimed musical takes us from middle-class black America to Amsterdam, Berlin and back again on a journey towards personal and artistic authenticity…better known as “the Real”.   For ticket information go to www.thepollard.org.

Next week’s Chamber Coffee, August 7 will be hosted by Logan Community Services located at 4710 S. Division.  Everyone is welcome to attend, have a great week!

Thank you for putting new ideas into my head.

  2. Ernest Hemingway said that it’s not hard being a writer.
All you need to do is sit down next to a typewriter and bleed.
I believe that quality writing must be like that and
I’ll certainly revisit this blog, simply because it hhas
a large amount of brilliant writing, and it is noticeable someone “bled” for it.
