Hi there! Have you noticed that Prairie Gothic has moved?! They have moved a block north, and across the street at 115 N. 2nd St. They aren’t letting a little move slow them down, though, they have already had two “Living Room Concerts” in their new location! Keep looking for new and exciting things to come from them on their Facebook page! We sure are happy to have such community-minded folks in Guthrie, and as part of The Guthrie Chamber of Commerce!

The Guthrie YMCA is focused on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. The Y has launched its 2015 Annual Campaign. This is a community fundraising effort that allows the Y to provide financial assistance to individuals and families in our community who need us the most.  In 2014, more than 1,000 children and individuals from Guthrie received financial assistance totaling more than $70,000, enabling them to participate in Y programs and services. Most importantly, no person is ever denied membership or program participation due to the inability to pay.  Think about donating to the Y this year, your donation goes directly back to the people in this community to help them with financial assistance.  The Y offers many programs such as youth sports that focus on teaching teamwork and the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility; day camp that keeps kids active and energized throughout the summer months; tutoring for struggling students in core educational areas; swimming lessons for people of all ages to learn water safety and skills; teen leadership programs like Youth in Government; a fitness center for building healthy bodies; and so much more.
