Chamber Chat: Volunteers and sponsors in need for triathlon

Greetings! We are looking sponsors and volunteers to help with our Triathlon next month, July 20. The first 350 people who register to participate will receive a nice back pack sponsored by Dolese. Inside the back pack will be a pub glass sponsored by Vintage 89, a very nice t-shirt with the sponsor’s names on it, and promotional material from any of the sponsors who would like to put it in.  Vance Motors Auto Group is the Finish Line and Awards Sponsor.  We are still looking for a sponsor for several other items. Plus there will be great advertising banners all along the transition area!  Contact us right away to have the opportunity to be one of the advertisers!  This event is one of
only 2 fundraisers for The Guthrie Chamber of Commerce, along with our Annual Banquet.  We appreciate your generosity!

We still need volunteers to help with the Mumford & Sons Stopover Tour, and we can still accept vendor applications! Byron Berline has chronicled his almost 50 years of fiddling around the world for a vast variety of audiences in his just released autobiography “A Fiddlers Diary “.  In his book, co-written with Jane Frost, Byron takes you from the Shetland Islands to Katmandu, Nepal and hundreds of destinations in between.  You will read about being on stage with John Denver with a 103 degree temperature,  watching as Bill Monroe, in his tux, fell off the stage backwards, auditioning Vince Gill for a spot in his band,  recording on the street with the Rolling Stones, and lots more riotous stories, many of which revolve  around golfing across the continents. Byron and Jane will be signing books and visiting with folks at the Fiddle Shop on Saturday, June 22nd beginning at 2pm. 121 E. Oklahoma Ave.

There are a lot of things going on at the Guthrie Public Library! June 25 at 6:30p.m. You can join them for this fun and informative program that will teach you the basics about container gardening. Get the scoop and start your own container garden today! Part of the Adult Summer Reading Program.

June 26 Chamber Coffee will be hosted by Ochs Real Estate located at 102 W. Oklahoma Avenue. Stop by for a cup of coffee and some refreshments to hear about what is going on in our community this month, everyone is welcome. June 27 at 7:30 a.m. A complimentary breakfast meeting will be hosted by Smart Start Logan County to bring awareness on Early Childhood Economics and employment, demographic trends and health indicators.
