A 62-year-old woman from Choctaw died on the scene from a two-vehicle accident Saturday morning in Logan County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the fatality accident occurred at 10:44 a.m. on SH-74 at Industrial Road, one mile south of State Highway 33.
Troopers say a 1996 Mazda Pickup, driven by Francis Declan, 26 years, of Alva and a 2006 Chevrolet HHR driven by Patricia Calvert, 62, of Choctaw were both traveling southbound on SH-74.
According to a report, The HHR was traveling in front of the pickup when the HHR made an improper U-turn at the intersection and was struck in the front driver’s side by the truck.
Calvert was pinned for approximately two hours and was extricated by Cashion Fire.
Calvert died at the scene.
Declan was transported to Mercy Hospital Logan County where he was treated and released.
OHP says the cause of the collision is under investigation.
Along with OHP, Cashion Fire Department, Guthrie Fire and EMS, Crescent Fire Department, Miller EMS and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene.
