Guthrie High School is excited to introduce Christi Erbar as the new assistant coach for the softball team, bringing a wealth of experience and accolades to the program.
This marks Erbar’s fourth year teaching reading at Guthrie Junior High and her first year coaching softball at the high school. “I am so thrilled to be given an opportunity to assist my fellow coaches in taking the program to amazing heights and to help produce intelligent, confident, and strong young ladies,” Erbar shared.

Originally from Commerce, Oklahoma, Erbar graduated from Miami High School, where she earned All-Conference and Large East All-State Honors as a shortstop.
Her impressive collegiate career began at NEO A&M College in Miami, OK, continued at Crowder College in Neosho, MO, and culminated at Oklahoma State University. As a standout player, she earned All-Region Shortstop honors twice and was named an All-American. At OSU, she competed in the Big 8 Conference Softball Championships, Regional Championships, and the NCAA Division 1 Softball College World Series for two consecutive years.
Erbar graduated from OSU with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Health, and Secondary English. She has taught and coached for 12 years at various schools, including Cushing, Miami, Deer Creek in Edmond, Perry, Stillwater, Crowder, and NEO. Additionally, she has coached 18-U Gold level summer ball for four years and has received accolades such as FCA Coach of the Year and Big 10 Coach of the Year.
She is married to Hal and has two grown children, Courtnei and Cole, who both played collegiately. Cole has a 4-year-old daughter, Beatrice. Courtnei and her wife, Rachel, live in Kansas City, where she has two bonus daughters, Ashley and Katelynn.
