Citizens for Quality Education met on Monday at Central Elementary and got a tour of the school building.
Principal Maranda Wilson took the group in and out of classrooms and discussed the school atmosphere that students and school personnel come to everyday.
Supt. Dr. Mike Simpson and two teachers from the building were also on hand to help answer questions.
Wilson thanked the group for their dedication in helping teachers with support as well as the catered lunches that are served on Fridays.
Wilson explained an upcoming fundraiser that will help raise money for a canopy shelter for the students who wait to be picked up after school. She explained with the heat, rain and other outdoor elements sometimes it is not the best situation for the children as they wait to be picked up.
The CQE will meet on Monday, March 31 at 6 p.m. at Cotteral Elementary to tour the building. The public is encouraged to attend.
