Following an almost two-hour executive session, the Guthrie city council unanimously voted to terminate the contract with their city manager.
Bruce Johnson was terminated on Tuesday evening by the city council with a 6-0 vote. According to the motion by Vice Mayor John Wood, Johnson was terminated for cause and breach of contract.

Council member Brian Bothroyd made a second to the motion.
The termination is effective immediately.
City council members and Johnson was not available for comment following the announcement.
Council member Z Thomas was in the executive meeting, but left prior and did not vote.
Johnson was escorted out of the building by a Guthrie police officer.
City Attorney Randel Shadid told Guthrie News Page that there will be no comment from the City stating it was a “personnel” issue.
Johnson was hired Aug. 1, 2015.
An interim city manager was not named.
