City crews sanding slick roads; list of street priorities

Crews with the City of Guthrie were out and about Saturday morning with sand trucks on local streets. Now, they are on standby for pending winter weather.

The first call for sand trucks came from the Guthrie Fire Department at around 7:30 a.m. as they returned from an non-injury accident on Interstate 35.

The area saw freezing drizzle causing slick spots, but just missed out on heavier precipitation with Oklahoma County to the south seeing more freezing drizzle.

Tenny Maker with the Guthrie Public Works says work crews will remain out until priority one and two streets have been covered and will be on standby if more weather should come in.
