Not many times, if ever, has a Guthrie city manager been offered a multi-year contract for the City of Guthrie. Often times, city managers come and go in Guthrie, but Leroy Alsup will continue to over look the City into the future.
Alsup agreed to a three-year contract extension offered by the city council following an executive session in last week’s council meeting.
The agreement runs through September 2024.
“I appreciate the trust and faith the City Council Members have expressed in my ability to work with them in a team environment to serve our great community,” Alsup said.
Alsup was introduced as the city manager in Feb. 2017 and has served the position currently for 49 months.
Since 1990, Guthrie has seen 13 city managers — not including interim managers. The previous longest tenure for a sitting city manager was 42 months (Glen Hayes).
“I am fortunate to work with an outstanding leadership team of department heads,” Alsup added. “The City of Guthrie is served by the most dedicated and talented workforce ever. I am great full to be part of that team effort.”
