City Manager: Guthrie Growth

When it comes to keeping a community sustainable and encouraging a healthy local economy, growth matters. Therefore, it is my honor to announce and welcome three new businesses that will soon be in operation in the Guthrie area: Cimarron Aerospace, King Nail and Galleria Furniture.

Cimarron Aerospace is a high-tech manufacturing company that will be utilizing the old Kerr-McGee facility along Highways 33 and 74. Beginning this August, Cimarron Aerospace will bring over 20 well-paying jobs to the area. Furthermore, since the company contracts with large global businesses like Boeing, it will not only create jobs but will bring outside wealth into the local economy.  This project meets both the goals of the City of Guthrie’s Economic Development agenda and that is the addition of jobs and capital!

King Nail is a state-of-the-art rapid-fire nail manufacturing company relocating from California and Vietnam to Guthrie. King Nail will create over 40 manufacturing jobs, and will utilize existing space at the Stewart Industries industrial complex along West College Avenue. It is always great to see buildings directly handed off from one use to another with little to no vacancy. The attraction of King Nail to Guthrie shows that Guthrie has the ability to compete in the global economy.

Last but not least, Galleria Furniture will soon be opening a store in the shopping center by Walgreens on South Division in the space previously occupied by Aaron’s. Galleria Furniture currently has locations in Oklahoma City, Lawton and Chickasha, and will fill a gap in Guthrie’s market by offering home furnishings, mattresses, carpet and more. This will give citizens the convenience of shopping for and purchasing these items without having to travel elsewhere. Galleria Furniture will bring in additional sales tax dollars and create job opportunities, as well.

I am glad to welcome these and other businesses that have chosen to be a part of our town, and applaud the Economic Development teams in Guthrie who have been working together to attract these and other companies to our community. Working together, we can make great opportunities for all the citizens of Guthrie.
