After four years of service to the City of Guthrie, Cody Mosley has accepted a position in northeastern Oklahoma.
Mosley accepted Broken Arrow’s Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director of Community and Retail Development position. He has begun transitioning into that role and will assume full time duties in January.
Mosley, who was named a 30 under 30 Next Gen finalist in 2014, will finish with the City of Guthrie on Jan. 3.
The City created a marketing and economic development position in 2012 and hired Mosley as the director. Since that time, he has held several positions within the City from planning, development, tourism and overlooking city boards and commissions.
“My family and I are so thankful for our time here and the relationships we’ve made,” Mosley told Guthrie News Page.
“These four years have passed by so quickly, and it’s amazing to see what has happened in Guthrie during that time.”
When Mosley accepted the Guthrie position he was engaged to be married. Now, he and his wife (Chelsea) and young daughter will make the move to the town of over 100,000 people.
A move that Mosley says will ultimately benefit his family.
“I always want to express my gratitude to Matt Mueller (former city manager) who originally hired me, and thank the Guthrie City Council and City Hall staff for their support. I am excited to see how Guthrie has positioned itself for the future,” Mosley concluded with.
During his time at Guthrie, Mosley led efforts in successfully coordinating the Mumford & Sons: Gentlemen of the Road Guthrie Stopover, and helped in the creation and development of “Make Guthrie Weird” (now known as Red Brick Nights) a movement to promote Guthrie as a destination for emerging artists.
