City officials urge west side residents to conserve water amid booster pump failure

City officials have issued a call for residents on the west side of Guthrie to be mindful of their water usage following the failure of a booster pump at a west side booster station.

The malfunction has led to reduced water pressure in several areas, causing inconvenience and concern among the local populace.

Crews are working diligently to replace the faulty pump, but the process may take some time, according to Public Works Director Tenny Maker on late Monday afternoon. In the interim, city officials are asking citizens to adopt conservative water usage practices to help mitigate the impact of the pump failure.

Residents are advised to limit non-essential water use, such as lawn watering and car washing until the issue is resolved.

For any concerns or additional information, residents can contact the city’s public works department at 405-282-8400.
