After several emotional goodbyes last week, Guthrie cross country head coach James Strahorn had a change of heart a few short hours later.
On June 20, Strahorn announced he was leaving his coaching and teaching position with Guthrie Public Schools for a position at Edmond Memorial. However, less than 48 hours later Strahorn says Guthrie is where he wants to be.
“Just something in my heart was telling me that leaving wasn’t the best for me,” Strahorn said. “These kids mean too much to me.”
Strahorn, who will begin his third year with the Jays, worked out the athletes on Monday morning as they prepare for their first meet of the season on August 24.
