Collision in Coyle sends three people to the hospital

An improper left turn resulted in a head-on accident in Coyle sending three people to the hospital Saturday morning.

According the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, at 8:39 a.m. Norma Jean Bentley, 80, of Coyle was driving a 2009 Mercury westbound on State Highway 33 when she attempted a left turn onto Main Street and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

Britani Vann, 22, of Muskogee was eastbound on Highway 33 when her 2003 Toyota Camry struck Bentley’s Mercury.

Bentley was transported to Stillwater Medical Center were she was treated and release. The passenger, Carl Bentley, 94, of Coyle was also transported to Stillwater Medical Center, but was later airlifted to OU Medical Center with internal injuries.

Vann was taken to OU Medical Center and was admitted in stable condition with head, arm, leg and internal injuries.

Along with OHP, Guthrie Fire Department, Coyle Fire Department, Langston University Police and the Logan County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the scene.
