During public comments (starting at 1:08 in video), Tommy Payne shared his displeasure in the current condition of county roads in District One, particularly the southwestern portion of the county. He calls the roads impassable. Payne said he has tried several times to contact Commissioner Marven Goodman, but with no success and wanted to make his concerns heard in a public forum.

Sgt. Michael Treanor with the Army National Guard 63rd Civil Support Team made a presentation and requested the use of the county’s six-story building, located at 320 E. Harrison, for chemical, biological and nuclear training. (starting at 6:35 in video)

The building has been used in the past for law enforcement training.

Along with the National Guard, the training will be in conjunction with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Logan County Swat Team, Oklahoma City Bomb Squad, FBI, and fire departments.

Treanor said the departments will work together on lowering exercises off the roof as well as setting up a room that simulates a terrorist lab.

The use of helicopters is also expected to be used.

The training will be on Aug. 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The majority of the meeting was based on the five-year plan for the larger road and bridge projects in the county. (starting at 30:23 in video)
