Council approves renewal agreement for Highland Hall facility use by Logan County Aging Services

The Guthrie City Council approved a renewal agreement between the City of Guthrie and Sodexho Operations, LLC for the use of the Highland Hall facility by Logan County Aging Services during their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday night.

The renewed agreement, effective from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, continues the longstanding partnership that supports the local elderly community. Logan County Aging Services utilizes Highland Hall to prepare and serve meals (lunch) for seniors 250 days a year. Additionally, the Annex is designated for office space to manage the Nutrition Program.

This agreement traces back to a 2009 amendment when the City Council reduced the monthly rental rate for the Annex from $400 to a symbolic $1 per year. This reduction remains in effect until funding for Logan County Aging Services is restored.

While Logan County Aging Services primarily uses Highland Hall, the City of Guthrie retains the right to rent the facility when it is not in use by the service. As part of the agreement, Sodexho Operations, LLC contributes $350 per month towards the shared utility costs.

This collaborative effort underscores the community’s commitment to supporting its senior population, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals and essential services.
