STILLWATER, Okla. – A group of 4-H’ers from around the state were recently selected to serve as new State 4-H Ambassadors for 2024-2025.
Since 1994, the Oklahoma 4-H Ambassador Program has positively impacted club members by providing opportunities to enhance their leadership skills.
Bridger Arrington, a member of the Mulhall-Orlando 4-H Club in Logan County, is one of eight 4-H’ers selected for this honor.
“I am really excited to become an Ambassador since it’s a part of 4-H that I’ve never really explored,” Arrington said. “I am looking forward to working with my 4-H friends from around the state.”
Cathy Allen, senior specialist with Oklahoma State University Extension and advisor for the State 4-H Ambassadors, said the purpose of this group is found within its name.
“Oklahoma 4-H Ambassadors are truly ambassadors not only for their group but the 4-H Youth Development program in its entirety,” Allen said. “They will be responsible for spreading the word about the impact 4-H has across the state and how it develops members into positive and productive members of society. They’ll share this message with leaders within their communities and beyond.”
The ambassadors will strengthen their public speaking and leadership skills and also learn teamwork and time management.
“These new leaders will be making the best better,” Allen said.
Dawn Andrew, FCS/4-H educator in Logan County, said she is excited to have Bridger Arrington as an Oklahoma 4-H Ambassador.
“Bridger exemplifies what it means to be an ambassador. He is a great role model for all of our 4-H’ers in Logan County and I know he will be a great asset to the group,” Andrew said.
