Cooperton is located in Kiowa County in southwestern Oklahoma.

Along with brush and tanker trucks, Guthrie Fire Chief Eric Harlow and Logan County Emergency Manager David Ball are responding to the area.

On Wednesday, 1,000 acres burned in Logan County, near Mulhall. County fire departments received assistance from fire task forces in Oklahoma, Canadian and Noble counties.
