The Logan County Courthouse was evacuated Wednesday afternoon when the County Clerk’s office received two threatening phone calls.

According to Sheriff authorities, the clerk’s office received the first call at 1:50 p.m. and the second call at 2:18. Neither call made reference to a bomb threat.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s bomb squad was called in and searched the building with bomb sniffing dogs. Authorities gave the all clear around 4:15 p.m. The courthouse along with the Logan County DHS office, who also evacuated, was closed for the remainder of the day.

The calls were not specific and are not being released, but authorities did mention the calls were automated threats with a Middle Eastern accent and part of the call contain the words “Praise Allah”.

However, Sheriff Deputy Rob Groseclose said the call was unrelated to any specific religion such as Muslim, or Arabic and is calling it a hoax in the voice tone.

“We have a lead and are actively pursuing it,” Groseclose said.

Logan County deputies and Guthrie Police Department secured the area while OHP worked the scene.
