Coyle Public Schools awarded over $500,000 Oklahoma Comprehensive Literacy Competitive Grant

Coyle Public Schools (CPS) has recently been awarded the prestigious Oklahoma Comprehensive Literacy Competitive Grant, valued at more than $500,000. This significant funding will support CPS’s efforts to enhance literacy development for all students, spanning from 18 months of age through 12th grade, over the next five years.

The grant will enable CPS to implement a comprehensive literacy plan focused on strengthening reading and writing skills throughout the school district. The program will include valuable partnerships designed to foster literacy at every stage of a student’s educational journey.

The grant will allow CPS to bring in specialized staff and additional resources aimed at ensuring that all students have the tools and support they need to succeed in literacy. The initiative is designed to enhance the district’s existing efforts while implementing new, evidence-based strategies for learning.

A special recognition goes to the grant committee, whose diligent work and dedication made this award possible. Misty Gebhart, Ashley Kennedy, James Hall, and Aleshia Graham all played crucial roles in researching and preparing the application that secured the grant.

CPS is excited about the opportunities this grant will create and looks forward to the positive impact it will have on student success in the coming years.
