Crews on scene of fatality accident involving train

Updated on Oct. 11 — OHP has identified the victim from Wednesday’s fatality accident involving a train.

Christopher Capps Smith, 22, of Garland, TX. was pronounced dead at the scene by the Medical Examiner due to massive trauma.

The report says the train was northbound when Smith was standing on the tracks.

The accident happened just before 3 p.m. near Beemer Road and Highway 77

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the case.

    OHP released this accident to the media and is when this was posted. The initial OHP report also had his middle name spelled wrong and age. They sent out a new media email today with his proper age and spelling of his name.

  5. I appreciate you fixing his age and name. I still don’t like that it was allowed to release his name before all close family members could be notified. There is a GoFundMe page set up to help us with the costs for his arrangements. If you would be willing to post that we would be very grateful. We are struggling to come up with the money, he did not have life insurance and this came at a time when our families are struggling financially.
