Diane Vaughan returning to district attorney’s office

District Attorney Laura Thomas announced Thursday Diane Vaughan is returning to the Logan County office as an Assistant District Attorney. 

Thomas said, “Diane is a dedicated public servant and I am very happy to have her back in the office as she is an accomplished attorney who will zealously serve the citizens of Logan County.”

Vaughan started her legal career as a clerk for Judge Lumpkin at the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.  She later served as an Assistant General Counsel at the Department of Human Services and then as an Assistant District Attorney in District 9, Payne and Logan Counties, for four years. Vaughan has also served in the Air National Guard for nearly 18 years and is currently a Captain in the JAG Corps.

After a working for a short time in private practice, Vaughan wanted to return to prosecution.

“Serving as an Assistant District Attorney is a very rewarding career, so I was delighted to be able to return to work for Laura Thomas,” Vaughan said.

“Laura is a skilled, experienced prosecutor who exhibits the highest degree of professionalism and integrity. I am so fortunate to be able to return to a career that I love and work with such a loyal, hardworking staff. ”
